It was founded by Betsy Hutton and her son Todd Reinhard on the island of St. John, in the United States Virgin Islands, and was the only Sushi bar here at that time. We began by importing Japanese Sushi chefs from New York and New Jersey for the first two years of operation. During those years Betsy and Todd learned the art of Sushi and developed their own unique style which separates Beni Iguana’s from other sushi bars around the world.
